Responsibilities

As our new Maintenance Manager for REAL ALLOY in Morgantown, Kentucky, you will plan, direct, and coordinate employees engaged in electrical and mechanical maintenance activities and supervise the maintenance and repair of our facility’s physical structures, grounds, and equipment.

 

Additional responsibilities include: 

 

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze severity and prioritize equipment issues to minimize plant down time as well as maximize productivity.
  • Communicate instructions to maintenance personnel for desired repairs. Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules, and the review of all repairs for quality, methods, and cost effectiveness.
  • Investigate material substitutions for equipment and process improvements.
  • Plan all outside contracting & bidding for projects. Locate and purchase materials for maintenance repairs.  Screen all maintenance purchase requests, and contact suppliers on availability, costs, and quality.
  • Inspect repairs for structural soundness, possible methods to improve operations and cost effectiveness. Conduct plant walk-arounds to identify and analyze corrective and preventative maintenance, modification, surveillance activities, and to provide input for refining and improving work package quality.
  • Interface and collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, and Maintenance Planning to identify and resolve work issues. Schedules equipment facility shut-down with production department. Ensure maximum uptime performance of all production centers in the plant through efficient use of available resources and according to production planning priorities.
  • Development and implementation of improvement action plans for each area of responsibility to ensure year over year improvement in critical plant metrics.
  • Champion preventive maintenance program and ensure work order completion and preventive maintenance effectiveness.
  • Oversee the overall equipment maintenance schedules, advise on downtime requirements, and review breakdown vs. scheduled maintenance work. Report monthly statistics, and evaluate improvement opportunities.
  • Develop revise and review maintenance procedures to facilitate and enhance work package development. Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with all applicable procedures.
  • Facilitate package preparation by preparing and / or submitting, plant impairments, Hot work permits, Fire impairments, operability impact statements, and regulatory documentation
  • Monitor and participate in control of maintenance budgets.
  • Directly supervises maintenance staff.

 

 

Qualifications

Maintenance Manager

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering strongly preferred, Masters of Science degree a plus.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in maintenance- related to manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • Necessitates excellent interpersonal, planning, organizing
  • Highly motivated, goal oriented, ethical, and challenge driven
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products. Experience with CMMS preferred.
  • Ability to motivate team members to maximum performance through encouragement. Ability to communicate effectively by developing good listening skills and one-to-one facilitation skills.
  • Must be able to sort data and understand maintenance systems and procedures in order to recognize current and/or potential problems, initiate effective resolutions or improvement within area of discretion identified by Manager.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to analyze best practice maintenance procedures and systems to determine cause and effect relationship of outputs and use analysis to maximize work performed and equipment downtime.
