Overview

REAL ALLOY is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production.  Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, we have 17 plants strategically located across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.  We convert aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries. We are ideally positioned to respond to the needs of an increasingly recycling-conscious world. Advanced technologies enable us to process a large variety of scrap and dross and reduce the amount of residual waste from aluminum manufacturing that would otherwise end up as landfill.

Responsibilities

PLANT MANAGER for REAL ALLOY in Morgantown, Kentucky

 

Provide management, leadership, and supervision of facility operations, ensuring quality production at minimal cost in a safe work environment.

 

Core Accountabilities

  • Builds a culture that promotes safety and participates in safety audits and initiatives.
  • Develops, implements, manages and achieves strategic business plans for facility to achieve corporate and local goals, budgets, and sales.
  • Manages resources to maximize returns while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance to budget and production schedules, monitors production output and quality data, and oversees compiling of reports for management review.
  • Maintains accountability for all aspects of plant operations.
  • Capably and consistently communicates corporate and local facility vision.
  • Leads, coaches and mentors employees. Recognize and reward outstanding employee performance.
  • Actively promotes change and continuous improvement.
  • Oversees major development, construction, and maintenance programs.
  • Represents the company to local community.
  • Interacts with customers, suppliers, vendors, and public government agencies.
  • Provides information to corporate officers for planning activities.
  • Develop and implement succession plan.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages subordinates and is responsible for the overall direction, organization, coordination, and evaluation of the facility, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, or other program with relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing operations role.
  • Minimum three years managerial experience.
  • Working knowledge of Lean required Black Belt certification desirable.
  • Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to function with minimal supervision while also leading others toward project goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize effective and efficiently.
  • Results and detail oriented.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
