REAL ALLOY is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production.  Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, we have 16 plants strategically located across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.  We convert aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries. Advanced technologies enable us to process a large variety of scrap and dross and reduce the amount of residual waste from aluminum manufacturing that would otherwise end up as landfill.

Responsibilities

Operations Business Analyst - hybrid in Cleveland, Ohio.

 

The Operations Business Analyst we are looking for is going to be based out of our Beachwood, Ohio corporate office and work onsite most of each week. 

 

This role will help drive successful results and improvements within both the sustainability and engineering functions of the business – in particular, with regard to capital control and project management. You will implement and maintain sustainability data collection systems for Real Alloy North America, focused on the reduction of carbon footprint and other environmental impacts. 

 

This role will build relationships with our finance and engineering team across our North America footprint via teams calls and reporting meetings to become an expert in our processes and goals. 

 

Relating to Engineering, you will:

  • Be responsible for monitoring and reporting overall capital spending status of the business to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Assist with implementing the “Toll Gate Process” within the capital planning process across the business. Identify and initiate improvements to the process.
  • Work in conjunction with the engineering department monitoring and reporting on the individual projects being undertaken within the business using the “Toll Gate Process” & liaising with other departments as required.
  • Implement a visual reporting mechanism with KPI’s to be used for regular updates to senior management. 
  • Analyze KPIs and identify any concerns with current status for management as well as providing recommendations for corrective actions.

 

Relating to Sustainability, you will:

  • Own the systems for sustainability KPI’s and reporting for the plants.
  • Develop methods for system tracking and reporting of emissions, gas use, and electricity.
  • Assist with translating customer sustainability requirements into credible data collection and management solutions.
  • Partner with plant teams and engineering on innovative solutions and technology implementation and proving results.
  • Prepare monthly energy and carbon data reports.
  • Contribute to the Sustainability Strategic Plan.
  • Work with 3rd parties on independent review of energy calculations.
  • Assist plants with preparation for, and execution of, audits to certify to the standards of the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative.

Qualifications

Operations Business Analyst

  • Four-year degree required in a business, technical, science or engineering discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience working in an analytical or process improvement role
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt experience preferred.
  • Must have strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal including the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and objectives.
  • Practical Statistical & financial analysis skills
  • Proven ability to function with minimal supervision while also leading others toward project goals.
  • Travel as required (minimum 20%)
